Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Every year, we give away money to deserving students in high school or college for educational expenses. This year, we will be giving away two (2) $2,500 scholarships for the 2022-23 school year to our student members for a total of $5,000! One scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman and one scholarship will be awarded to a returning student.

Lowland Credit Union is committed to our home communities and the importance of educating our youth is paramount. We are very proud to support our members and their educations through the Lee Johns Memorial Scholarship, in honor of former Board of Director, Lee Johns.

Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a 2022 graduating high school senior or continuing education student
• Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above
• Be a member in good standing at Lowland Credit Union – parents’ membership does not apply
• Plan to enroll or be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college or university

The following items must be included with the complete application:

• Applicant must complete an essay on the following topic:

The Credit Union philosophy is “People Helping People”.  How have you applied this principle thus far in your life and how do you intend to apply that principle to your future endeavors.

• One letter of Recommendation
• Current transcript of grades
• Listing of Community Service
